If your family likes animals, then Bush Gardens Tampa is the theme park for you. Bush Gardens Tampa covers 335 acres and is populated by over 12,000 animals, making it one of North America’s largest zoo. I hadn’t been to Bush Gardens since the 1980s and was pleasantly surprised when I checked it out recently. Beyond a lot of animals in very natural habitats, the park also has roller coasters and other rides including North America’s tallest freestanding drop tower, Falcon’s Fury®. I enjoyed Cobra’s Curse and Florida’s first triple-launch coaster, Cheetah Hunt.
Plan to visit the state-of-the-art veterinary facility the Animal Care Center where the Saturday morning TV show “Wild Life Docs” is filmed.
Tickets are available that combine Bush Gardens and Adventure Island, a water park right next door and if you want any or all the SeaWorld parks in Orlando. They even operate a free daily shuttle bus between Orlando and Tampa so you can visit both without doing the driving between the locations.
