Last week I was able to go on a tour of Discovery Cove. This is a place I have always wanted to spend the day but just had a difficult time deciding to spend the money. It is not inexpensive.
I will be scheduling a family trip soon.
This place is amazing. When I was talking to a friend about my visit she gave this advice: “arrive before they open and make them kick you out at the end of the day”. The park does not officially open until 9am but I
arrived for my tour at 7:30am and the doors were open and people arriving for breakfast. These people had obviously received the same advice my friend gave me.
The park allows a limited number of people each day. We visited on a day that was sold out. There were no crowds and no lines.
This park is all-inclusive. Seriously. Arrive in your bathing suit, water shoes and cover-up. Bring a change of clothes for the end of the day. You will need your ID to check-in but then it goes into the locker with everything else. Everything from unlimited food and beverages (beer and wine included), sunscreen, towels,
wet suits to hair dryers, showers, lockers has been thought of and is included. The food is good, the towels are soft
and the staff makes you feel special.
The same friend told me that she felt like Oprah when she was at Discovery Cove.
I had been looking at Discovery Cove as a one day trip to Orlando. That is much to expensive and stressful. When you purchase Discovery Cove tickets as part of a vacation package, you able to fully enjoy your day at Discovery Cove as well as unlimited visits to Aquatica and Sea World, some behind the scenes tours and more.
In addition, the further you make your reservation in advance, the better your price.
I am looking into making reservations for my family. Let me know if you’d like some information for yours!
